Growing up as a military child, I was always intrigued and inspired by the photos, memorabilia, and artwork hanging on the walls of the unit headquarters buildings that I had the opportunity to visit. Therefore, I consider it a true honor to have my work permanently hanging on the wall in the Crane Army Ammunition Activities (CAAA) headquarters in Crane, Indiana!
This piece was commissioned by the departing commander of CAAA as his personal farewell gift to the unit. The intent was to create a graphic representation of the installation, illustrating key elements that make it unique, and highlighting what they do there – as well as some inside jokes! I am absolutely honored to have been chosen to create such a gift!

Individual assets created traditionally using India ink, colored pencils, and Blackwing graphite on watercolor paper. Each piece was then scanned and composited together digitally via Photoshop.
Included is a photo of the final piece hanging in its forever home! I was delighted to receive this photo, and still can’t believe that my work is really hanging at the entrance to the command suite in an Army unit headquarters – what a dream come true and an incredibly proud moment for this Army Brat!
Also pictured is the commander’s coin I received!!! A special token that makes my little heart very happy!
